Barry Share is probably one of the last remaining professional full-time casemakers in East
Yorkshire making bespoke longcase clocks, encasing new and old movements. Over the years they have built up a
reputation of high quality and honesty thus creating total satisfaction to all existing
customers.
Barry started his repair and restoration business at Newport in the East
Riding of Yorkshire in 1985. The business was
based on the repair and restoration of antique longcase clocks and barometers and specialises in the making
of the finest bespoke longcase clock cases. All the work commissioned in our East Yorkshire
workshop have been done by hand, using traditional methods and
techniques. Our qualified craftsmen do all our work in the traditional manner used by generations of case
makers and restorers, making sure all clocks and barometers are restored to thier original period, style and
condition.

clock cases
We have been repairing and restoring Longcase clocks since 1986. Over that time we have
worked on hundreds of clock cases, from early eighteenth century oak cases with square brass dials, to late
nineteenth century mahogany cases with painted break arch dials.
Through the many years we have repaired bases that have been damaged and full of rot, doors that have become
twisted and cupped, and hoods that have been cut down to accommodate low ceilings...
We have replaced veneers and stringing damaged and lost over many years of neglect, as well as correctly restoring
cases that have been badly repaired or butchered by the not so reputable dealers and inexperienced restorers.
All through this period we have acquired a wealth of knowledge on case construction and their makers, which have
enabled us to offer these unique skills of making a clock case for any movement and dial, in the period and style
of its maker.
